Are you interested in:

  • Volunteering to help make a difference to those less fortunate?
  • Becoming involved in local community service opportunities and events?
  • Meeting new people?
  • Improving your own sense of fulfillment and happiness?

Sounds interesting? Terrific!

We are a local group of nearly 30 men and women who strive to make a difference to the lives of others in our local community as well as internationally.
From taking local disabled people horse-riding to organising Highland Gatherings (they seem to also work in Hertfordshire!) and coordinating Giant Easter Egg raffles for local hospices, we mastermind or contribute to all kinds of fund raising and care initiatives and events. And having fun and making new friends along the way is a big part of what we do too.
We are always looking for new members to join us. To qualify you just need to be over 18, with an open-minded and kind heart… and a good sense of humour in your back pocket will also likely prove useful!

“This sounds terrific, but where will I find the time?”

We recognise that there are lots of people out there interested in volunteering but who also need to balance this with work commitments, perhaps an early train to catch each day, or with a small wriggling child under one arm and a dog running off in the other direction!
With this in mind, we have flexible membership options including some which allow potential members to help on occasions that suit them.

It would be really fantastic to hear from you…

If you are interested in finding out a bit more, Davis Shall would always be happy to answer your questions. He can be reached at Alternatively you can complete the form below or e-mail Mark Deacon at
We’d welcome you to join one of our meetings and say ‘hello’. We can promise a friendly greeting, a pint or a cuppa with no strings attached.
Thank you for considering us.
